5 Roles Perfect for Denzel Washington in…

Denzel Washington Joins ‘Black Panther 3’: Exploring Possible Roles

When the legendary Denzel Washington signed on for "Black Panther 3," fans couldn’t contain their excitement. The double Oscar winner can take on nearly any role offered to him. The question still looms: will he play a hero or a villain?

Mephisto’s Potential Rise

Mephisto, a high-ranking demon, has echoed in fan theories for over a decade. Initial murmurs about his appearance emerged during the "Agatha All Along" saga. This has led many to wonder if Washington will embody this infamous demon in a big-screen debut.

While Washington could deliver a stirring performance as Mephisto, the role might not fit his plans. The character lacks strong Wakanda ties. Furthermore, Washington’s potential retirement after this film suggests he might avoid roles that require multiple movies.

The Shadow of Jakarra

Crafted by Jack Kirby, Jakarra—a half-brother of T’Challa—swarms with shadows. He grew resentful despite becoming a Wakanda army general. His exposure to Vibranium mutated him into an energy-absorbing monster.

Although intriguing, Jakarra seems an improbable choice for Washington. The character echoes too much of Killmonger’s story from the MCU. Additionally, transforming Washington into a CGI beast seems a misuse of his immense talent.

S’Yan: A Noble Heritage

S’Yan the Swift could offer an intriguing, noble lineage for Washington. In the comics, he briefly wore the Black Panther mantle. Post King T’Chaka’s demise, he stepped aside for T’Challa, ultimately facing his death defending Wakanda.

Within the MCU, S’Yan first sketched his presence in the Black Panther Prelude. A scientist steering the Wakandan Design Group, he later retired, with Shuri stepping up. Whether mentor or leader, S’Yan suits Washington well.

Philosopher Changamire

The philosophical Changamire presents a thought-provoking choice. Debuting in the 2016 series, this Wakandan philosopher stirred dialogues on anti-monarchical beliefs. He mentored Queen Ramonda before exile due to his beliefs.

His teachings, albeit exile-worthy, ignited a revolt against T’Challa. Washington could certainly thrive in a role that sees an elder accidentally sparking a revolution. However, given the lack of symbiote plots in the MCU, that chapter likely remains untouched.

The Revolutionary Tetu

Alternatively, the character of Tetu offers a captivating antagonist pathway. Former student of Changamire, Tetu dived into mysticism. His mastery over nature magic eventually co-led him into rebellion with The People.

Tetu’s anti-monarchist stance aligns with "Black Panther 3’s" potential themes. Pitting magic against science significantly intrigues, especially impacting Shuri. Nonetheless, Tetu’s vengeance-driven motives extend beyond just aiding the downtrodden.

As the buzz surrounding "Black Panther 3" grows, Denzel Washington’s role becomes a thrilling mystery. Whether noble or nefarious, his presence in the Marvel universe signifies a treat for audiences eagerly anticipating its release.
