No, we do not sell books. Our platform is designed to help users trade their trade paperbacks with each other. We charge a small fee of $1.11 per book for facilitating these connections and cover the credit card charges. If someone would like to sell their book to another member we do require it be at no more than 60% of what the current listing is on Amazon and the $1.11 per book fee.

 

3. How does the book exchange work?

Users can list the trade paperbacks they want to trade and browse books listed by other users. When you find a book you’d like to trade for, you can initiate a trade request with the owner. Once both parties agree, you handle the shipping directly between yourselves.

 

4. What is the fee for using August Tales?

We charge a fee of $1.11 per book traded. This fee helps us maintain the platform, ensure smooth transactions between users and includes the credit card fees.

No, there is no membership fee to join August Tales. You only pay the $1.11 per book fee when you make a trade.

August Tales is part of an umbrella of fiction book exchanges. When a transaction is made, charges will appear as Vanguard Fiction Exchange on your statements.

 

Trading Books

10. How do I list a book for trade?

To list a book, log in to your account, go to the “My Books” section, and click on “Add a Book.” Fill in the details about the book and upload a clear image.

11. How do I request a trade?

Browse the available books, and when you find one you’re interested in, click on the “Request Trade” button. This will send a trade request to the book’s owner, who can then accept or decline your offer.

12. What if my trade request is declined?

If your trade request is declined, you can try to negotiate with the owner or look for another book that interests you. Declined requests do not incur any fees and are allowed.

13. How is shipping handled?

Shipping is chosen directly between the users involved in the trade and then purchased through Augusttales.com. Once a trade is agreed upon, you can communicate with each other to decide on the shipping method and each member is responsible for their shipping costs.

14. How can I ensure my books arrive safely?

It is your responsibility to package the books securely for shipping. We recommend using sturdy packaging materials and tracking the shipment to ensure safe delivery.

15. Can I hand-write the address to send a book?

Yes, you can hand-write the address, but we recommend printing it to avoid any errors.
