The Reynolds Family’s Superhero Adventure
In the latest superhero saga, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” the Reynolds family certainly did not shy away from making it a family affair. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s offspring graced us with their cameos, infiltrating the film in various roles alongside their parents. As for Lively, we were graced with her feisty performance as Lady Deadpool. But let’s talk about something that caught our eye–a unique credit roll exclusively for the young one of the Reynolds clan.
Meet Betty Reynolds, the 4-year-old Jackman Wrangler
Even though she wasn’t given screen time, young Betty Reynolds sure did add a pinch of spice to her parents’ film. Listed in the “Special Thanks” credits as “Hugh Jackman Wrangler: Betty Reynolds,” we bet you’re just as curious as we are about what a “Hugh Jackman Wrangler” embodies.
In an interview earlier this year, Reynolds started peeling back the layers of this intriguing job description. As it turns out, Betty has an ‘unconditional love’ for Hugh Jackman, which she expresses through ‘unblinking violence.’ Shades of a miniature Deadpool, anyone?
Apparently, mirroring her father’s way of expressing love towards Jackman, young Betty seems to be following suit — Deadpool style, of course. We can only cross our fingers and hope she flings as many names at Jackman as her Dad does.
Reynolds Kids Making Their Mark
Don’t think for a moment that the other Reynolds children were left out of the fun. Quite the contrary, all the siblings featured in the film in one way or another.
A Family Affair to Remember
Inez Reynolds, the feisty seven-year-old, dawned on us as the junior Deadpool variant Kidpool. Her one-year-old brother, Olin, made us coo at his adorable cameo as Babypool. And after a raucous third-act brawl, he claps for Deadpool and Wolverine, charming us from amidst the carnage. Lastly, James Reynolds, Ryan’s eldest daughter, took on the role of a “Screaming Mutant” — an IMDb credit to be proud of.
As we eagerly await “Deadpool & Wolverine” streaming, one thing’s for sure — we’ll have fun freeze-framing the scenes, trying to spot the Reynolds brood amid all the super-heroic chaos.
This, friends, is the joy of Deadpool, Wolverine, and a family playing dress-up; we swear it’s almost like a super-heroic reality TV show, but without the cringe.
