Green Hornet and Miss Fury Unite in New Series

Green Hornet and Miss Fury Unite for a New Adventure

Dynamite Entertainment is set to bring two iconic heroes together this November in a series that promises to be both nostalgic and thrilling. The Green Hornet and Miss Fury, two legends from the pulp era, will share the spotlight in a crossover series helmed by a talented creative team. Writers Alex Segura and Henry Barajas, along with artist Federico Sorressa, are leading this exciting new project.

When Styles Clash: Green Hornet Meets Miss Fury

The story kicks off with a bang as Marla Drake (Miss Fury) and Britt Reid (The Green Hornet) find themselves on a collision course. Their contrasting crime-fighting methods create immediate tension, yet they quickly discover a common thread. Both heroes were mentored by the enigmatic Silver Shrike, who recently met a mysterious end. To solve the mystery, they must put aside their differences and work together. As they delve deeper into the case, they uncover a conspiracy that threatens not just them but all vigilantes. With Kato by their side, this unlikely trio must navigate a web of danger and deceit to survive.

A Tribute to the Golden Age of Comics

Alex Segura, known for his work on Star Wars and Secret Identity, expressed his excitement about the project. “I have a soft spot for two things—writing pulp heroes I grew up reading as a kid and working with my friends,” Segura shared. “This series felt like the perfect springboard to spotlight the iconic hero [Green Hornet] and put him up against one of the true classic heroines of comics, Miss Fury.” Segura emphasized that the characters almost write themselves, thanks to their rich histories and the dynamic artwork of Federico Sorressa.

The Green Hornet and Miss Fury, both born out of the 1930s and 40s, will be transported to the swinging sixties in this series. The creators draw from the charm of the Hornet’s TV era, adding a layer of neo-noir to give the story a fresh yet classic feel. The Green Hornet’s legacy spans radio, film, television, and comics, with nearly 15 years under Dynamite’s banner. Miss Fury, created by June Tarpé Mills, holds the distinction of being the first female superhero created by a woman.

Passionate Collaboration

Henry Barajas, co-writer of the series, is equally passionate about this project. “Green Hornet and Miss Fury are two of the most iconic pulp capes ever,” Barajas stated. He fondly recalled his childhood spent absorbing the early Harvey Comics stories, radio shows, and the 1966 TV series starring Bruce Lee as Kato. Barajas aims to both honor the past and excite fans for what’s to come with this unique crossover.
