Marvel’s Brilliant Method to Revive Characters

Deadpool & Wolverine: The Return of Headpool?

Article by August Tales

“Deadpool & Wolverine” has taken the global cinema scene by a storm. With Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in the roles of Wolverine and Deadpool respectively, this hit was the talk of the town last year. Finally, the highly-anticipated on-screen duo delivered, leaving keen fans fulfilled.

Marvel Characters, Easter Eggs, and Surprise Cameos

Myriad Marvel Easter Eggs and cameos have fueled the excitement even further. Beloved Marvel character cameos, packed with notable Deadpool variants, kept attention levels through the roof. Notably, one peculiar variant made headlines – Headpool, the strangest MCU character introduced so far. As we understand Marvel’s future plans, there could be an ingenious way to reincorporate Headpool into the MCU.

Headpool: the Voice Behind, and What Lies Ahead

Voice acted by Nathan Fillion, Headpool couldn’t do much in the final battle, considering he’s a decomposing flying head. Despite his limitations, Headpool became a firm fan-favorite for his remarkable cameo. As yet, no significant plans have been disclosed for this offbeat character by Marvel. However, the cosmic universe of ‘Marvel Zombies’ could provide the perfect home for his return.

A Glimpse into Marvel’s Zombie Universe

Headpool’s origins are deeply rooted in the “Marvel Zombies” universe, having debuted in its issue #3 (February 2006), the brainchild of Robert Kirkman and Sean Phillips. His comic book appearances have been few, but the MCU possesses an enticing opportunity to bring this character back.

Fans might recollect the “What If…?” series and its zombie-themed episode, a nod to the “Marvel Zombies” alternate universe. While it’s too late for Headpool to return in a previously aired episode, Marvel’s upcoming four-part miniseries, “Marvel Zombies”, presents an ideal platform.

The Future of Headpool in ‘Marvel Zombies’ Miniseries

Though the release date remains unconfirmed – possibly 2025 – we can expect zombie versions of popular characters like Hawkeye, Captain America, and Captain Marvel, among others. Though Headpool’s appearance is still uncertain, the popularity of the movie and ample time to work on new episodes suggest a great opportunity for his return. It remains to be seen whether Marvel will seize this opportunity or not.
