Previously only confirmed for Japan on the Nintendo Switch, hope now glimmers for a Western release. An unexpected tip-off from an ESRB listing suggests a broader release might be on the horizon.

A Western Promise?

As is often the case, the ESRB has a knack for uncovering surprises. It revealed potential Western availability of Disney Music Parade – Encore before any official word. The rating mentions “Mild Fantasy Violence,” but the real intrigue lies in its Nintendo Switch confirmation under the ESRB. This revelation may delight plenty of Disney aficionados eager for the game in the West.

For those unfamiliar, Disney Music Parade debuted as a rhythm game in Japan. Imagineer launched it for mobile devices, featuring cherished music from Disney classics. Players raced characters through tracks, hitting notes in time to melodies. A simple concept, but its Disney song library combined with accessibility made it a hit.

The Game’s Journey Back

In 2021, Disney Music Parade appeared exclusively in Japan. Despite its success, it was shut down in 2023. This prompted disappointed players, even those outside of Japan, to find creative ways to access the game. However, hope rekindled with Imagineer’s trailer earlier this year, heralding the game’s return. Disney Music Parade – Encore is slated for a Nintendo Switch release this November. Initially, it was supposed to be a Japan-only launch, leading many to consider importing the game. Yet, the ESRB rating may bring joy to the West.

Disney Music Parade originally featured over 90 musical tracks from a wide array of Disney films. The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Cinderella, and Lilo & Stitch were just a few titles included. Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Frozen, among others, added to the vast soundtrack.
