Marvel’s New Captain America Sets Sights on Juggernaut
Anthony Mackie steps into the spotlight as Sam Wilson becomes the new Captain America. In the upcoming film, "Captain America: Brave New World," he will confront a wave of formidable enemies. But Mackie’s ambitions don’t stop there; he has his sights on facing the legendary X-Men villain, Juggernaut, in future cinematic battles.
A Vision for the Future
In a recent interview, Mackie revealed his wish for Captain America to battle Juggernaut after the release of "Brave New World." This would potentially roll into a future sequel, perhaps a Captain America 5. Interestingly, different versions of the Juggernaut have already graced the MCU. Aaron W. Reed will portray a variant in the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine." Meanwhile, Juggernaut was voiced by Ryan Reynolds in "Deadpool 2" and previously brought to life by Vinnie Jones in "X-Men: The Last Stand."
“I’d love to tackle some X-Men villains,” Mackie shared. Transitioning effortlessly into excitement, he continued, “The Juggernaut crew could be a thrilling onscreen clash. Their powers against Captain America’s would promise epic battles.”
Possibilities on the Horizon
Marvel Studios has a new X-Men film in development, suggesting that Mackie’s wish for a Juggernaut face-off might soon be realized. Meanwhile, in "Brave New World," Captain America will engage with three established villains: Giancarlo Esposito’s Sidewinder, Tim Blake Nelson’s the Leader, and Harrison Ford’s President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, also known as Red Hulk.
Juggernaut, known in the comics as Cain Marko, is Professor Charles Xavier’s step-brother. But unlike Xavier, Marko is not a mutant. His remarkable strength stems from a crimson gem, transforming him into the avatar of Cyttorak, the gem’s original owner.
As Mackie steps into Captain America’s substantial boots, speculation about future villainous encounters runs rampant among fans. With the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe’s scope, the potential for new storylines and fierce battles never ceases to amaze.
Stay tuned to see how Mackie’s vision unfolds in the world of superheroes. The Captain America saga promises to keep us at the edge of our seats, delivering powerful stories and formidable foes.
