New Archie Comics Releases for August 2024
When Hell Meets Riverdale
You’ve heard of libraries cursed with overdue books, but this is a new one. “The Cursed Library”, all decked out to scare the bejeezus out of you, is now open for bookworms – or should we say, horror hounds. This week has been a flavorful one for the fans of Archie comics. Celebrate the last breaths of August, 2024, with the latest offerings from Archie Comics.
An Unholy Trip Down The Cursed Library
Here’s what to expect in “The Cursed Library #1 (of 3)”: We left off with Jinx trapping the former Queen of the Underworld in a strangely spooky library. Building on that, Jinx gets a power surge from her dad’s demonic gift. Enter Danni Malloy – Jinx’s BFF.
Hereafter, she must coax Madam Satan to guide her through Hell (literally, not a metaphor). In finding Jinx’s mom, she might just salvage Jinx’s soul from eternal damnation. Along this infernal journey, expect cross-over faces right off the eerie pages of the library. It’s a three-part horror series that reads like the mutant offspring of Riverdale’s return of the Jedi and Dante’s Inferno. And all you need is the radical power of love, or maybe a burly amulet.
Archie’s Puzzling Crossroads
Counterbalancing the overt horror, Archie’s back in a one-shot comic, “The Decision”. Archie finds himself at a crossroads – Betty or Veronica? Penned by the Eisner award-winning scribe, Tom King, and brought to life by Archie legend, Dan Parent, this tale explores Archie’s romantic dilemma while Riverdale holds its breath. Yes! Your favorite classic characters like Josie, The Pussycats, and Sabrina, are back in the ring.
Wonder Teen: Each Bet Is On!
And if that hasn’t scrambled your brain enough, let’s introduce the preposterous but highly anticipated first appearance of Wonder Teen X in “Betty and Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #327”. Find out who this shining newbie is, and why beleaguered superheroes across the globe are shaking in their bright leather boots.
From The Golden Archives
Also, brace for a wave of nostalgia with digital releases of old, classic comics. No week can be somber when PEP and Laugh Comics are in the discussion, right?
Whether you prefer to buy print versions or digital editions, devotees of Archie comics have plenty to chew on. Find them in your local comic shops or in the Archie Comics Online Store. Better yet, subscribe to the series. And ignore the trembling bookseller who warns you about unseen dangers. It’s just business as usual in Riverdale.
