Artists for LA: AWA Launches Campaign to Support Local Art

A New Chapter for California: Artists Rally for Relief

AWA Studios is stepping up to help with its latest initiative, Artists for LA. This month-long charity campaign launched on Zoop seeks to provide relief for those grappling with the aftermath of California’s relentless wildfires. How? By auctioning unique creations, all with heartfelt intentions.

The Masters Behind the Magic

Contributing their talents to this cause are revered artists like Bill Sienkiewicz, Denys Cowan, Alison Sampson, and Mike Deodato Jr., who illustrated a striking Conan the Barbarian piece. Proceeds from these works will support the California Fire Foundation’s Wildfire and Disaster Relief Fund, alongside the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund.

United for a Cause

AWA’s leadership, including Axel Alonso, Matthew Anderson, and Nahuel Fanjul-Arguijo, orchestrates this effort. Through their direction, fan-favorite creatives like Denys Cowan (Black Panther, Illuminati), Alison Sampson (Department of Truth, Women of Marvel), Bill Sienkiewicz (Daredevil, Illuminati), and Mike Deodato Jr. (Avengers, Expecting the Unexpected) have lined up to lend a hand. All proceeds head straight to aiding relief efforts, rebuilding shattered lives and communities touched by tragedy.

A Call to Action

Now is the time to act. Original artwork and prints are currently up for grabs at www.ARTISTSforLA.org. The goal is clear: to reach $10,000 in funds. As of now, $2,365 has been raised. It’s a collaborative effort to tend to wounds left by the fires that began raging on January 7. These fires have already claimed 28 lives, displaced over 200,000 individuals, and devastated more than 18,000 structures.

In this spirit, Mad Cave Studios is also contributing to the cause. They have announced an anthology titled LA Strong: A Charity Comic for Victims of the Los Angeles Fires. Although no release date is set yet, it promises to maintain this momentum in helping those in need. AWA’s campaign concludes at February’s end, but the familial spirit of support will carry on.
