Ayer Promotes Release of His Suicide Squad Cut

In the wake of Creature Commandos’ release, fans are buzzing over its ties to the DCEU. Particularly, David Ayer’s infamous Suicide Squad from 2016 is trending again. Fans are rallying for Ayer’s original cut of the movie. The director himself joined the conversation, posting on social media to push for his "real film." Accompanying this, Ayer shared intriguing, unseen photos of Jared Leto’s Joker.

David Ayer’s Unyielding Hope for the Ayer Cut

Ayer took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a fan-made Suicide Squad Ayer Cut poster. The goal? Persuade Warner Bros. to release it. Ayer expressed gratitude to his film’s advocates for their unwavering support. He hopes his true vision sees the light one day.

In his X post, Ayer wrote, "I hope my real film can be shared one day. I appreciate the continued support and interest." Below this, he shared a revamped banner of Suicide Squad. The poster prominently featured the film’s characters, underscored by the title "The Ayer Cut."

Back in 2016, Suicide Squad hit theaters, only to receive a lukewarm reception. Ayer blamed studio meddling for its shortcomings. Since then, a loyal fanbase has campaigned for his original version’s release.

A New Look at Jared Leto’s Unseen Joker

Along with the poster, Ayer delighted fans with never-before-seen images of Jared Leto’s Joker from Suicide Squad.

In one dramatic shot, the Joker is seen emerging, furiously, from a vat of chemicals. This moment seems to follow his volatile encounter with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, who eventually joins him in the chemical chamber.

Another snapshot reveals a tense scene between Harley and the Joker. Leto’s character appears with a charred visage, gun in hand. This sequence, like several others, was axed from the final cut.

Despite the outcry for The Ayer Cut, Warner Bros. remains silent on any possible release. Fans, however, continue to demand closure, eagerly awaiting a day when Ayer’s vision might finally be fulfilled.
