D23 Brazil Introduces New Captain America

Marvel Unleashes Electrifying New Footage at D23 Brazil

At Disney’s inaugural D23 Brazil event, Marvel took fans by storm. Audiences were treated to fresh glimpses of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming blockbusters, with Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* headlining the show.

Captain America Thrills with Retro Vibes

The second trailer for Captain America: Brave New World set a high standard for anticipation. Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, takes center stage as he confronts Isaiah Bradley, played by Carl Lumbly. The plot thickens with Wilson investigating the attempted assassination of President Thaddeus Ross, now dramatically played by Harrison Ford.

Excitingly, the trailer debuts Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, and Tim Blake Nelson in the enigmatic role of The Leader. Meanwhile, Danny Ramirez’s new Falcon showcases dynamic aerial feats. The trailer concludes with a shocking reveal — Ross’s monstrous transformation into the Red Hulk. The stylistic choice of a split-screen with gritty ’70s thriller captions adds to the suspense.

*Thunderbolts Delivers Action-Packed Teaser**

Marvel then shifted gears to Thunderbolts*, offering fans a pulse-pounding extended look. Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes makes an electrifying appearance in the desert, rescuing and corralling his team, which includes Florence Pugh’s Yelena and David Harbour’s Red Guardian. The trailer reintroduces John Walker, the U.S. Agent, and Ava Starr, known as Ghost.

Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster and Lewis Pullman’s Bob round out the team, adding intrigue to the film’s narrative. Humor emerges when Alexei, played by Harbour, seems alone in his enthusiasm for the team’s name. The asterisk in the title hints at connections to Thunderbolt Ross’s own monstrous identity transformation.

Upcoming Releases and Other Teases

Mark your calendars. Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14, with Thunderbolts* following closely on May 2. Marvel thrilled attendees with sneak peeks of the third season of What If…?, set to premiere on Disney+ this December 22.

Fans also got glimpses of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which airs January 29, Daredevil: Born Again on March 4, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps slated for July 25. However, digital release dates for these exclusives remain unannounced.

Star Wars Sees the Future with Andor

Lucasfilm added to the excitement by announcing the premiere of Andor season two on Disney+ come April 22, 2025. The 12-episode season will dive into Cassian Andor’s four-year journey as a Rebel. Rebranded as Andor: A Star Wars Story, the series aims to bridge narratives seamlessly into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Stay tuned for further details from D23, and don’t miss the new Brave New World poster that’s generating buzz among fans worldwide.
