Dave Callaham, the writer of Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings, has been brought on board for the next Godzilla x Kong project. The film’s release date is currently unknown. Meanwhile, Wingard will shift his focus to his new original project, Onslaught, in collaboration with A24.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire explores the histories and origins of the Titans Godzilla and Kong, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond. The film delves into the mythic battles that shaped these legendary beings and their connection to humanity.
The cast of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire includes Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen. The screenplay is by Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett, and Jeremy Slater, with the story based on the character “Godzilla” created by TOHO Co., Ltd.
The film was originally set to release nationwide in theaters and IMAX on March 29, 2024, with an international release starting on April 10, 2024.
