The comic constellation is aligning to serve a delectable Turkey-feast variant cover for ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #11. Marvel, in collaboration with the illustrious Terry and Rachel Dodson, are bringing Thanksgiving cheer to comic fans. For years, the comic universe thrived on limited, albeit, iconic Turkey-themed covers, the most prominent being a JLA cover by Carlos Pacheco.

This breathtaking cover, brimming with Thanksgiving essence, showcased Power Girl as she shared a roast turkey with the JLAers. Despite its charm, fans were craving something fresh. Marvel, in response, added a unique spin with their new Spider-Man family cover. Notably, the current ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN series crafts Peter Parker as a webslinging husband and father, juggling his secret identity and family ties in a delightful narrative.

A Twist in the Tableau

The new cover portrays Mary Jane, honorably serving a roast turkey, to a happy Spider-family. Peter Parker, effortlessly blending his dual life, joins his beloved family for a festive feast. Referencing a Classic

The Dodsons’ cover draws inspiration from Norman Rockwell’s iconic Saturday Evening post cover. However, the rendition introduces its own indulgent pieces, including Spidey’s illustrious upside-down kiss and Peter’s attempt to swipe a drumstick. The cover cleverly reflects everyday moments we’ve all encountered, such as the struggle for the perfectly-cooked turkey. It appeals directly to the common man while retaining the fantasy element typical of Marvel.
