Disney Pulls Star Wars Movie From Release Schedule

Disney’s Mystery Move: The Star Wars Film Vanishing Act

Disney, in a surprising twist, has deleted an untitled Star Wars film from its release calendar. Initially slated for December 18, 2026, the film’s future now hangs in the balance. Fans are left wondering if this means a cancellation or merely a delay.

A Galaxy’s Uncertain Future

Speculation swirls around several announced Star Wars projects. Among them is a solo Rey movie with Daisy Ridley, originally planned with screenwriter Steven Knight. However, Knight parted ways with the project last month. Currently, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy remains attached to direct, making it her feature debut. Reports also hinted at a new trilogy, possibly featuring Ridley’s Rey, penned by Simon Kinberg. This adds to the confusion regarding the paused project under Obaid-Chinoy’s direction.

Scheduled Stars and Upcoming Adventures

As it stands, the next scheduled Star Wars journey is centered on "The Mandalorian & Grogu," slated for May 22, 2026. Story details remain scarce, but Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, alongside Grogu and Zeb Orrelios. Adding intrigue, Sigourney Weaver joins the cast in a shadowy new role.

While cinema screens await another Star Wars spectacle, television keeps the saga alive. This December, "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" debuts on Disney+. Crafted by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, the series features stars like Jude Law, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, and Kerry Condon.

Television Keeps the Force Alive

Andor, another beloved series, is gearing up for its second season premiere on April 22, 2025. Though the untitled film’s fate remains vague, Disney’s galaxy still thrives on the small screen, keeping the lore of Jedi, Sith, and space adventures vibrant for its devoted audience.
