In recent years, I’ve plunged into a delightful and costly obsession. The target of my fixation: Hasbro’s Marvel Legends figures. With a particular love for the comic book-style characters, it’s impossible to overlook the charm of movie and TV versions. For collectors like me, Hasbro’s relentless annual releases spell delight and doom for our shrinking shelves and thinning wallets. Fast forward to 2025, and Hasbro Pulse is already stirring excitement. Their latest stream unveiled a string of "mini comics" figures and more intriguing additions.
Mini Comics Come Alive
Hasbro’s mini comics figures, animated in stop-motion by Plastic Action, exude charm. Each figure is packaged with a miniature comic book accessory. Cute, right?
Starting with Rom the Spaceknight, these figures offer a refreshing blend of novelty and nostalgia. Rom is a relic for those familiar with its past—as a toy birthed into comics by Marvel. This allowed for toy lovers to rejoice as Marvel regained rights for new collections.
Enter Adam Warlock
Next on the thrill list is Adam Warlock. His classic look hails from Jim Starlin’s legendary series and the Infinity Gauntlet saga. The figure is complete with the Infinity Gauntlet itself, making it a rad addition for any collector.
Daken: A Unique Twist
Then comes Daken, the latest addition to the Wolverine brigade. Despite the surplus of Wolverine figures, Daken, aka Dark Wolverine, stands out. His tattooed arms, claw-machine-style claws, and flashy hairstyle set him apart. As Logan’s son with a villainous past in the Dark Avengers, he adds some needed spice.
Ultimate Miles and Iron Man
A favorite is always a new Miles Morales figure. Between Spider-Verse and Sony’s video games, fans have been spoiled for choice. However, this Ultimate version of Miles brings fresh excitement. Simultaneously, Ultimate Iron Man joins the ranks, offering a distinct suit style that catches the eye amidst Iron Man’s vast collection.
Echoes of Banshee
Banshee comes donned in his 1975 Giant-Size X-Men #1 green and yellow suit. Despite its historic appeal, it’s a simple repaint of the earlier blue and yellow version. For collectors not attempting to recreate the original ’75 lineup, it may easily be skipped.
X-Factor Jean Grey and More
Up next is a Target exclusive: Jean Grey dressed in her green and yellow X-Factor costume. Following her, Electro from Spider-Man: No Way Home makes his highly anticipated debut. Jamie Foxx’s refined Electro comes with striking electricity effects, completing the villain lineup from the movie.
Introducing Maximum Spider-Man
Closing the stream is the announcement of the Maximum line. This new line promises more accessories, articulation, and a varied mix of hands and heads. Likely at a higher price point, it’s Hasbro’s venture into the high-end market, rivaling the likes of Bandai’s SH Figuarts. Leading this fresh wave is none other than Spider-Man himself, showcasing a classic ’90s McFarlane-drawn look.
Jean, Electro, and Maximum Spider-Man are slated for spring. While pre-order dates remain under wraps, anticipation builds as fans await these exciting new entries into the Marvel Legends series.
