The Specialty Variant Program
To bolster this relationship, we’ve launched a specialty variant program. This initiative allows retailers to order a minimum number of copies of select comic titles. Retailers can employ an artist of their choice to create a unique variant cover for their store, shipped directly from Archie Comics’ printers.
Our program offers virgin editions for the main and variant covers. These editions come without title cards or logos, allowing retailers’ art to shine. Please note, opportunities for these editions are first-come, first-served.

Terms for Retailers and Artists
Here’s a quick overview of the terms we offer to retailers and artists in this exclusive program:

The cost per copy is $2 for a $3.99 title ($2.50 for a $4.99 title during Archie Premium Events, such as "Archie Is Mr. Justice" and "The Cursed Library"). This fee covers printing, packing, and shipping. Orders are shipped in packs of 20, each boarded and wrapped for protection.

The minimum order is 250 units, processed directly through us. This includes delivery from the printer and invoice management via PayPal for simplicity.
- A concept sketch from the artist must be submitted for editorial approval before the final artwork. This step ensures the cover aligns with our guidelines and is suitable for all audiences.
