Manta Unveils ‘Under the Oak Tree – The White Dragon’ Side Story
Buckle up, fans of the cult romantic fantasy series “Under the Oak Tree.” The story is about to branch out. Welcome “Under the Oak Tree – The White Dragon,” a creation from the talented Korean Limited Edition writers. Get ready for a juicy three-volume saga, with Volume 1 debuting on July 24, courtesy of Manta.
A New Tale Among the Leaves
“Under the Oak Tree – The White Dragon” centers on Ursuline Ricaydo, one of the Remdragon Knights. The plot thickens when his half-brother arrives in the capital, demanding Ursuline serve as his squire. Ursuline’s encounter with the enigmatic Riftan Calypse turns his world upside down. Ursuline thought being a knight meant polishing boots and cleaning lances. Now, he’s torn between familial loyalty and personal aspirations.
The original web novel concluded in April, while the webcomic ended its third season in February. Manta, tight-lipped about the webcomic’s release, hints at a print edition landing in bookstores in September, under Penguin Random House’s Inklore. This printed version will feature the first 24 episodes of the comic.
When Fantasy Becomes Reality
“Under the Oak Tree” is set to make its physical debut in November. The initial release will include the first 76 chapters of the original series. The hardcover edition promises a treat for book lovers with sprayed page edges, full-color patterned endpapers, silver foil on the cover, and a ribbon bookmark.
Written by Kim Suji and illustrated by P and namu, “Under the Oak Tree” follows Lady Maximilian Croyso. Scorned by her father for her stammer, Maxi marries the illustrious Sir Riftan, who disappears right after their wedding night for three years. Through time, patience, and compassion, Maxi’s self-belief blossoms, especially as Riftan returns a hero.
