New T. rex Fossil Build in Jurassic World

The Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises have long inspired creativity in the form of LEGO builds. We can’t seem to get enough of those rampaging dinosaurs, even as miniatures. Now, LEGO and Universal Pictures have teamed up to reveal a spectacular addition to the LEGO Jurassic World series.

A New Jurassic Marvel in LEGO Form

Introducing the new Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex set, it stands as the largest LEGO Jurassic World creation ever. This jaw-dropping set highlights a detailed T. rex fossil skeleton measuring over a meter in length. The complexity is stunning, with 3,145 pieces coming together to create this dino masterpiece. You can check out the first images in our gallery.

But this isn’t just any LEGO set. With articulated joints, the T. rex features a movable head, a jaw that opens and closes, and posable arms and tail. This means endless possibilities for customization. Plus, it includes a display stand and an information plaque for all your showcasing needs. Hidden within are Easter eggs spanning Jurassic Park’s 30-year legacy, like the iconic amber piece.

Familiar Faces in Miniature Form

As a delightful nod to the classic films, the set also introduces Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant as Minifigures. These characters, famously portrayed by Laura Dern and Sam Neill, join the adventure once again, albeit in brick form.

The package doesn’t skimp on details either. Inside, you’ll find coffee-table-style instructions filled with design insights and film highlights. It even shares intriguing T. rex dinosaur facts for enthusiasts to enjoy. Adding to the experience, the LEGO Builder app offers another layer of interactive fun for fans.

From March 12, LEGO Insiders will get early access, while the rest of us will need to wait until March 15. Priced at $249.99 in the U.S., €249.99 in Europe, and £219.99 in the UK, this set is poised to become a collector’s dream.

As we eagerly anticipate the release of Jurassic World Rebirth this July, this LEGO set provides the perfect way to dive back into the prehistoric world. Whether you’re a fan of building or simply admiring these incredible creations, the new T. rex fossil is a must-have.
