Penguin Ratings Downgrade House of the…

The Penguin Series Scores Big, Overpowers Rivals

Written by August Tales

DC, Matt Reeves, and The Penguin hit the ground running. The House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, The Acolyte, and a slew of Marvel and Star Wars shows pale in comparison.

Following its gigantic ratings, The Penguin rides high on the wave of The Batman’s success. The Batman raised the bar on the Max streaming platform back in 2022. Suddenly, The Penguin lands a devastating blow to its competitors.

Unveiling The Penguin’s Ratings

So, what are The Penguin’s ratings? A staggering 3.2 million households saw fit to grace The Penguin with their viewership within four days of its launch. This follows closely on the heels of 4.1 million households that watched The Batman in its first week of release on Max last year.

The House of the Dragon Season 2 premiere on Max fell short by half in its first day. In comparison, 2.6 million households tuned in for its first season, which later soared to 4.8 million in four days.

Rings of Power Season 2’s debut on Amazon Prime Video seemed pallid, with only 902k households tuning in. The Acolyte, for its part, was left in the dark. Samba TV opted not to release any data on it, perhaps at the behest of its investor, Disney. Sadly, this series fell into oblivion after just one season.

A New Contender Emerges

The Penguin also makes short work of Ahsoka. The latter managed to capture the attention of only 1.2 million households during its Opening Six-Day stint on the Disney+ streaming service. In comparison, The Mandalorian Season 3 scraped up 1.6 million, Obi-Wan managed 2.14 million over the first four days, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could only conjure up 2.1 million households on Disney+ during its initial five days of streaming. The Penguin came out on top.

Critical Acclaim and Future Plans

Adding another feather to its cap, The Penguin boasts a handsome 94% Rotten Tomatoes Score from critics and a sturdy 90% score from fans. Colin Farrell steals the limelight, embodying the titular character with aplomb. New episodes roll out every Sunday night.

Reeves and team are already gearing up for The Batman Part II. Slated for October 2, 2026, the much-awaited sequel will see Robert Pattinson reprising his role in this electrifying saga.
