LEGO’s Cinematic Surprise Revealed

Building the Unexpected

LEGO movies had been following a somewhat repetitive pattern. We’ve seen a Batman-centric movie, a Ninjago-focused one – all that was missing was a full-blown Star Wars LEGO film. But, LEGO’s strength hinges on shocking us, leading to its most recent film – quite unexpectedly, a documentary. The documentary will be a tribute to the world-renowned artist, Pharrell Williams. Recreating real-life scenes with LEGO, it’s part one of LEGO’s fresh deal with Universal, where Pharrell shines due to his work with the Minions.

LEGO: Breaking Barriers

LEGO is set to release a new product that’s connected to their joint venture with Pharrell. Although not tied to any specific scene in ‘Piece by Piece’, this set offers some unique aspects. Firstly, it breaks records with the inclusion of 51 mini figure heads, spanning a broader range of skin tones than any LEGO set before. With seven skin tones to choose from and at least 30 new designs, LEGO is making sure all fans see a little of themselves in this set.

What’s more is that it boasts Pharrell’s mini figure and a customisable figure, allowing fans to utilise the extra heads. Given Pharrell’s love for the cosmos, it also includes a space shuttle figure. Additionally, it features a multicolored jetstream, capturing all colors of one’s dreams.

Over the Moon: Inside the LEGO Set

This innovative set is titled “Over the Moon”. Reflecting LEGO’s progressive values and Pharrell’s eclectic interests, the description suggests a number of firsts for the brand such as, “several brand-new color-piece combos, created specifically for this project, such as the custom-made windscreen canopy made in drum-lacquered gold color for the first time ever.”

“Over the Moon” sets you back $109.99 and will hit www.LEGO.com and physical LEGO stores come September 20, 2024. Meanwhile, the documentary ‘Piece by Piece’, with award-winning director Morgan Neville at the helm, will premiere on October 11.

Fans should be ready for official images of this unique set dropping soon.
