Ryan Reynolds ‘Aided’ in the…

Reynolds’ Role in Deadpool Leak Revealed

Nearly ten orbits around the sun have passed since some mysterious keyboard warrior livened up our boring day jobs by releasing never-before-seen footage of what would become the Deadpool movie. It was an undeniably artistic moment, much like that first stroke of Picasso’s paintbrush – a quick snap of color against the canvas damning us to a world brightened by a snarky, sword-wielding hero. Fans voraciously feasted on every pixel of the illicit video, proof that unlike my last date, there was genuine interest here. Why Fox hadn’t recognized this is as much of a mystery as that half-eaten sandwich in the back of your fridge.

A Lie-Detector, a Maverick, and an Assisted Leaker

So, who was the digital Robin Hood to treat us to this forbidden sampler? Ryan Reynolds, the man beneath Deadpool’s bodysuit, isn’t exactly revealing any secrets. But let’s just say the cat seemed pretty snug in the bag during one of Vanity Fair’s infamous lie-detector interviews. Even as Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, took turns grilling Reynolds about pivotal life moments, like his wedlock to Blake Lively or his worst audition, that cat didn’t bat a whisker.

Finally, Jackman nosedived into the question we’ve all been craving an answer to: “Were you behind the leak?” Sneaky of him to save this conversational equivalent of dropping a chandelier for the end. Reynolds, ever the glib talker, managed to bypass a direct answer, akin to a politician dodging a tough question. After some banter and a nudge from the lie detector’s operator, he cunningly stated, “I might have provided an assist. I was just Scottie Pippin. I was there, doing my job.”

The lie detector, its sole purpose to dispense fairness and impartiality, assured us that these statements all fell well within the truth’s safe parameters. As per Deadpool’s goofy sidekick, Weasel, say no more, right?

Mutual Roasts and R-Rated Marvel Sagas

Reynolds wasn’t about to leave all the fun of ribbing to Jackman, gracefully slipping in a jab about Jackman’s 2008 Sexiest Man Alive title. All in good fun, of course. If you’re the lead in a film that smashes the record for the highest-grossing R-rated movie on its opening weekend, a little roasting is fair game. Plus, there’s the unanimous, unspoken agreement that the Fox X-Men précis were beneath the gleaming majesty of the MCU’s cinematic spectacle.

Nothing like a friendly spat does promote an upcoming explosion of Deadpool and Wolverine’s R-rated adventures in theatres. And just as you might enjoy the subtlety of Reynolds’ humor, you might also find pleasure in the summation of feelings laid bare during the memorable lie-detector tête-à-tête between Reynolds and Jackman.

Seriously though, who wouldn’t make a movie from test footage that went viral faster than a cat playing the piano?

Some Superheroes Are Just More Equal Than Others

Now let’s deep dive into the vast pool of X-Men films patiently waiting to be ranked and discussed. With the rollercoaster of offerings that include spinoffs and prequels, it’s high time someone separated the heroes from the zeroes. But for now, our caped crusaders keep us guessing, and this Deadpool and Wolverine saga keeps us glued. Happy viewing!
