Skybound Unveils Future Energon Development

Skybound Showcases Plans for New York Comic Con with Focus on Transformers and G.I. Joe

Here’s a heads up, comic enthusiasts! New York Comic Con isn’t quite here, but the folks at Skybound already have their weekend line-up ready. Henderson’s own August Tales reports they’re putting heavy-hitting franchises Transformers and G.I. Joe front and center, ahead of Williamson and Reilly’s G.I. Joe series launching on November 13.

Friday’s Con: Panel Reports

Making an appearance on the convention’s first day would be Funko Fusion’s video game panel, alongside world-renowned Robert Kirkman. Yes, the Robert Kirkman of The Walking Dead and Invincible fame. He will be joined by Arthur Parsons, the top man at 1010 Games, and Funko’s Vice-President of Licensing, Jason Bischoff. They’ll be there to talk about the recently launched Funko Fusion – an AAA rated video game eagerly awaited by gamers globally.

That’s not all. There will be playable characters from Invincible and Omni-Man. Truth be told, you might also spot Michonne and Rick from The Walking Dead as DLC extras. And what’s a comic con without physical copies? You could grab yourself a copy of Funko Fusion on the spot!

Then comes Hasbro’s Toy Panel. Fascinated by Hasbro’s action brands G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS? This is the place for you. As an added perk, some lucky attendees will score Skybound’s G.I. JOE Ashcan comic books.

Saturday Highlights: A Glimpse into the Future

Skybound isn’t done with the Comic Con yet. They’re joining forces with G.I. JOE and Void Rivals, promising to unveil what’s next for the Energon Universe. Expect big reveals from the likes of JORGE CORONA from TRANSFORMERS. There’s a lot planned for this hour-long session, so prepare to be blown away.

But wait, there is more! Skybound has arranged for fans to get up close and personal with the pair creating G.I. Joe’s new series. Yes, it’s Joshua Williamson and Tom Reilly! Together with Jorge Corona, illustrator for Transformers, they will be signing exclusive ashcan copies of the new G.I. Joe #1.

Exclusive Deals and Collectibles

And just when you think that’s enough, Skybound is set to launch not one, but two exclusive items at this NYCC. A 40th-anniversary, foil edition of Marvel’s The Transformers #1, depicting Bill Sienkiewicz’s iconic cover. To add to this, they’re rolling out the ashcan of the new G.I. Joe #1, but with a twist – a Dreadnok-themed foil cover!

Ready to buy? Trusted seller Shawn Kirkham will be handling the exclusive Comic Con sales on the convention floor as well as on his eBay page.

With so much planned, Skybound sure knows how to keep the crowd buzzing. Here’s looking forward to an action-packed New York Comic Con 2024.
