Marvel’s Vision Series Adds New Cast Member
By August Tales
Vision’s World Expands
Marvel Studios’ series, starring the acclaimed Paul Bettany as synthezoid hero Vision, continues to evolve. A few months ago, Marvel roped in Terry Matalas, renowned for steering Star Trek: Picard’s third season. The project, christened ‘Vision Quest,’ was on its way.
Now, Matalas has once again made headlines. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he brought actor Todd Stashwick on-board. Fans will recall Stashwick’s remarkable performance in Picard’s third season as Captain Liam Shaw of the Titan. He quickly won audiences over.
In the upcoming Vision series, Stashwick’s character has a daunting task – to track Vision and his advanced technology. However, he is not just an observer; he’s a skilled assassin.
Speculating Stashwick’s Role
The professional relationship between Terry Matalas and Todd Stashwick had their beginning with the Syfy Channel series, 12 Monkeys. With their reunion for the Vision series, speculation is rife regarding Stashwick’s role. The assassin character might be a fresh creation or a previously unseen Marvel Comics character.
Marvel has a plethora of assassin characters left untouched in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), such as Paladin. The mutant Fantomex from the X-Men is another potential contender. Only time will tell.
Stashwick is the second addition to the Vision’s star-studded cast after Marvel announced James Spader’s comeback as Vision’s “father,” Ultron.
The Concluding Act
The Vision series is the conclusion of a metaphorical trilogy on Disney+. The first instalment was WandaVision, followed by the highly-anticipated Agatha All Along. Fans are left wondering, will the trilogy conclude with the iconic reunion of Scarlet Witch and the Vision? Perhaps accompanied by their superhero progeny, Wiccan and Speed?
It would undeniably be astonishing if the Maximoff family got back together just for the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. The Vision series will kick off filming in the U.K. in early 2025, with an expected release in 2026.
