Exciting, Wouldn’t It?

Batman II Update: Pattinson, Kravitz Return, Joker Role Uncertain

By August Tales

“The Batman Part II” is fired up and deep in development. Despite a nearly year-long delay, updates continue to hit our radar.

Cast Returning To Reprise Iconic Roles

Robert Pattinson is suiting up again as Bruce Wayne. So is Zoë Kravitz, reprising her role as Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman. Your much-loved butler, Alfred Pennyworth, will be played by Andy Serkis. The infamous Penguin, played by Colin Farrell, will also return to add a new depth to the encompassing Batman universe.

However, there’s one question that still hangs in the balance. Will we see Barry Keoghan’s Joker back on screen?

Keoghan’s Joker: Speculation or Reality?

Keoghan’s role as the “Unseen Arkham Prisoner” in “The Batman” (2022) was later hinted at being the Joker by director Matt Reeves. Warner Bros. released a deleted scene on March 24, 2022. This release, three weeks after the film premiered, featured Keoghan’s Joker in a compact scene with Pattinson’s Batman. Fan reception? They loved it!

It was reported over a year ago that Keoghan would return as the Joker in the upcoming sequel, but the studio never confirmed the news. When asked about his return to the role by Variety recently, Keoghan remained cryptic. All he shared was, “We’ll see where that goes. It was an incredible experience… and yeah, I can’t say.”

This tight-lipped response isn’t new. Keoghan kept mum six months prior when Vanity Fair asked him about his return. But the whispers surrounding his character suggest that he might just pop up in the sequel.

Keoghan’s Joker and the Future Of Batman Universe

Keoghan has expressed enthusiasm towards the potential comeback in the Batman universe. He stated,” I can’t really say anything about that, my man, but it would be exciting, wouldn’t it? To see The Joker come to life again.”

Are you excited? Brace yourself for “The Batman – Part II,” slated for release on October 2, 2026. Recently, Matt Reeves hinted at multiple central villains for the sequel. This ignited fan speculation that the Court of Owls might make their on-screen debut. Hold on tight, the Batman universe is expanding!
