Finn Jones Expresses Desire to Reprise His Role as Iron Fist In…

“Finn Jones Seeks Return as Iron Fist Alongside Mike Colter in MCU Series”

Buried among the folds of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a possible phoenix may be preparing for its rebirth: Finn Jones and his portrayal of Iron Fist. Hawking a touch of déjà vu, Jones has put forth his desire to reprise his role alongside Mike Colter as Luke Cage in a Heroes For Hire reboot.

While the MCU marinates on Jones’s proposition, it’s worth noting that speculations had begun frothing quite a bit earlier. As winter frost covered the ground in January, whispers were abound that Jones would be making a triumphant return to the superhero world, and this time, Iron Fist might have a feminine touch.

First introduced to the wide-eyed public in 2017, Finn Jones masterfully brought Danny Rand, the Iron Fist, to life through a Netflix series that endured for two seasons. If there was a Marvel Bingo, Jones would secure a double win, considering his charismatic guest appearance in the Luke Cage series, in which Mike Colter took center stage, and in Defenders.

During a tête-à-tête with The Nerd Shepherd at Heroes Dutch Comic-Con in the Netherlands, Jones waxed eloquent about his enduring connection with Iron Fist. He intoned, “Now, my intention – I would like to see the character continue. I think there’s still a lot of room for growth and professionally I’m at a point where I would like to continue to grow with Iron Fist.”

Like a moth to a flame, Jones is eager to recreate the magic of the on-screen relationship forged with Mike Colter. “That would be, indeed, delightful. I would relish rekindling the chemistry between me and Mike. An engaging pair we’ve always been,” emphasized Jones. Musing further, the actor added, “I think they’re fascinating characters to pool together. There’s a treasure trove of captivating stories just waiting to be narrated with those characters.”

The speculation has only gotten richer. The revamp of Heroes For Hire could be a very exciting possibility, one Jones fully endorses. He said, “If they brought me and Mike back to do a Heroes for Hire TV series, that would be hitting the bull’s eye.”

Meanwhile, the MCU seems to have developed a knack for resurrecting Netflix-birthed superheroes with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher already witnessing a reverberating comeback in Daredevil: Born Again. Could this spell an opportune moment for Jones and Colter?

Looking back on insider chitter-chatter from the 2019 Comic-Con, the word was out on the possible plans for a Heroes For Hire remake in the MCU. If this dream materializes, it would certainly be engrossing to outline its trajectory.

On a feminist upbeat note, the potential arrival of a female Iron Fist in the MCU is worth highlighting. Circulating talks suggest that she may be primed for her debut in the highly anticipated Eyes of Wakanda animated series. Keeping with the spirit, Marvel Comics took its own leap of emancipation, having rewritten the history of Iron Fist to now embrace the first ever female bearer of the title.

So, in a climate of superheroic reincarnations and gender revolutions, Jones’s wish may yet come true. However, nothing is etched in stone, and we’ll just have to twiddle our thumbs till the Powers That Be of MCU work their brand of cinematic magic.
