‘Almost an Appearance for Both Deadpool and Wolverine’

Deadpool & Wolverine: A Planned Cinematic Prank

The Prank that Almost Was: Deadpool & Wolverine

Ryan Reynolds, many a time the jester in the court of Hollywood, recently revealed a wild plan that could have made Deadpool & Wolverine a grand cinematic prank. On a cheeky outing on Hot Ones, the comic book star spilled the beans on an audacious plot that was though, but alas, never came to be.

Reynolds, the primary force behind the Deadpool & Wolverine trifecta serving as star, producer, and writer, disclosed that the “original idea” was to clandestinely create the movie and roll out a “fake” film titled Alpha Cop as a decoy. The plan was to craft Alpha Cop with supreme mediocrity in mind. “The film was about two guys sharing one brain, making the ultimate cop,” Reynolds revealed in his easygoing manner. The tagline packed a punch too, or rather a ball, “Two cops, one brain, all balls.”

The Houdini Act

Going by this mischievous stratagem, Alpha Cop would bomb intentionally. Reynolds imagined that about ten moviegoers lured to the theater on opening weekend would be in for the biggest surprise. Five minutes into the film, the Marvel logo would flip, and voila, it would be Deadpool & Wolverine playing on the screen. Deadpool’s own Hugh Jackman, learning of the gag for the first time, wasn’t short on enthusiasm, “Damn. That’s so cool.”

Now, let’s dissect this fascinating plan of Reynolds. While it may sound cool, and trust me, it does, pulling off this stunt successfully would be as challenging as doing a waltz on a tightrope. Sooner or later, some gossip-mongers would spoil the fun, leaking the plot on social media. Case in point – blabbermouth caterers!

The Reason, the Revelation, and the Regret

Now, what makes us believe that Marvel could pull off such a beautifully woven prank? Let’s rewind to when they hid Samuel L. Jackson in Iron Man’s end credits as Nick Fury and bamboozled us all. So, why not a full-blown movie?

Regretfully, Reynolds let the cat out of the bag on Hot Ones, but who knows, we might get an Omega Cop someday. At the moment, you can enjoy Reynolds and Jackman’s complete appearance on Hot Ones, where this gem of a revelation unfurls around the eight-minute mark. So, pass the popcorn and get ready for some hot celebrity revelations! Remaining true to his knack for the amusing, Ryan Reynolds keeps us entertained, both on and off the screen.
