Aubrey Plaza Expands Her Horizons in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Aubrey Plaza, noted for her impressive roles recently, has captivated audiences in her most crucial role yet. She has brought to life the character of Rio Vidal in the MCU’s ongoing series, ‘Agatha All Along.’
Unlike your conventional MCU heroes, Plaza isn’t suiting up with the Avengers. Instead, she’s embarking on an even cooler journey — becoming part of Agatha Harkness’s witch coven currently journeying through the Witches’ Road.
An Unusual Role for Aubrey Plaza
In the series, Plaza’s character, Rio Vidal, functions as a Green Witch and a romantic rival to Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. Episode 4 shed light on their peculiar relationship and hinted that Rio might even desire Agatha’s death. It’s a twist worth pulling up a chair for, given the past romance between these two characters.
If Plaza weren’t already entwined within Agatha’s diverse coven, she suggested an intriguing alternative team during an appearance on The Daily Show. Her offbeat lineup included personalities such as Kamala Harris, Judy Davis, and even Nicholas Cage.
Nicholas Cage in Aubrey Plaza’s Coven – Not that Far-Fetched?
Although you might find Kamala Harris’ responsibilities as Vice President more riveting than hitting the Witches Road, Plaza’s proposed coven isn’t entirely whimsical. Shockingly, we’re not referring to Patti LuPone, already a part of her in-show coven.
Plaza mentioned Nicholas Cage, originally known for his portrayal of Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider, before the inception of the MCU. with rumors that he may reprise his role in the upcoming Secret Wars Avengers film, this proposal doesn’t seem far from possible.
A Supernatural Mashup in the MCU: Ghost Rider and Rio Vidal
Integrating Ghost Rider and Rio Vidal within the MCU could be a logical move if we consider the ongoing exploration of the MCU’s supernatural side in ‘Agatha All Along.’ Ultimately, we might witness the rumored Midnight Sons MCU project come to fruition, aligning Rio Vidal and Johnny Blaze on the same team.
