August 2024’s Brilliant Stars

Dialing Down the Pokémon Hype: Peek into the Sinnoh-Themed Cards

Strap yourself in and buckle up, card collectors. As we pave our merry way through the unpredictable circus that is the Pokémon TCG market, we find ourselves looking at the Sinnoh-themed cards of Sword & Shield: Brilliant Stars.

No financial advice intended here, but simply an update for my fellow Pokémon obsessed comrades. The fluctuating values can be maddening, like a Sneasel in a Snorlax’s slumber party. While the past couple of years witnessed a rekindled flame in the hobby due to various factors such as the 25th Anniversary and the omnipresent COVID-19 lockdown that had us desperately looking for hobbies, it’s now time to see where the modern sets of 2024 stand.

Let’s run through the top cards of Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield – Brilliant Stars. Who has the bragging rights this month?

Charizard V Alternate Art 154/172 no longer sets the field ablaze, dropping to $126.31. Talk about a $50 dip since June! The Charizard VSTAR Rainbow Rare 174/172 isn’t faring too well either, settling at $44.69. Likewise, Arceus V Alternate Art 166/172 plummets to $30.43, losing a quarter of its worth. Lumineon V Alternate Art 156/172 finds itself in choppy waters too, losing over a third of its value.

The Trainer Gallery subset isn’t looking particularly festive either, Umbreon VMAX Character Super Rare TG23/TG30 now basks at a reduced $33.25.

The Ups and Downs of Trading Cards

This overall deflation isn’t exactly a Jigglypuff’s lullaby; the once coveted Charizard V Alternate Art approaches an all-time low. Even the heavy-hitter Arceus V Alternate Art is coming down from its pedestal.

Intriguingly, though, this market trend shows a cooling interest in Pokémon TCG: Brilliant Stars. Could this be the much-needed breath of fresh air for collectors or merely the calm before another Pokémon storm?

Hang in there, cardmasters, and stay tuned to our in-depth Pokémon TCG updates. We’ll brave the highs, lows, and unforeseen turns on this wild ride though the hobby’s past, present, and potentially card-studded future!

Remember, every falling star can once again rise and shine brilliantly. Or at least, that’s the hope we’re clinging onto while staring at our updated Brilliant Stars card collection.
