Baby Assassins Everyday! – Comedy Series Turns Hilarious Film Franchise into TV Spinoff
Written by August Tales
“Baby Assassins Everyday!” introduces itself as a 12-part television series. Using humor as its main weapon, this series tells the tales of two comical Gen Z assassins. The series, freshly hatched from indie movie franchise “Baby Assassins,” effortlessly merges comedy and crime.
Originally known for their eccentric films, “Baby Assassins” caters to international fans. The series premiered its first episode on September 4th. It is now available for streaming worldwide.
Gen Z Slackers Turned Assassins
The stars of the show, Saori Izawa and Akari Takaishi, portray Gen Z slackers Miharo and Chisato. They aren’t just ordinary, everyday slackers though; these two are assassins. Acquiring contracts from their guild, they prefer lounging over adult responsibilities. Be it paying bills or maintaining mundane jobs, these two consistently drop the ball.
However, slaying assigned targets? That’s more their speed. They sneakily navigate 9-to-5 life, racking up successful hits. Their inability to follow guild rules, such as not killing civilians, often leads to sticky situations. Yet, they get away with it, making the series a comic allegory of the gig economy. The narrative cleverly mocks Japanese society’s rule-bound structure and late capitalism.
An Ordinary Day in the Life of an Assassin
The TV series coincides with their third film, “Baby Assassins: Nice Days.” The cinematic storyline unravels as Chisato and Mahiro go on vacation, yet still, they can’t escape their lethal jobs. The miniseries follows the duo as they navigate day-to-day life and an unwanted big job in Tokyo.
While Hollywood scrambles to create high stakes stories for hitman characters, this series offers something different. It places hit people in the mundanity of everyday life. In doing so, “Baby Assassins” finds room for ample laughter and action.
The first episode of “Baby Assassins Everyday!” is now streaming for free on YouTube, complete with English subtitles.
Spread the word about “Baby Assassins” and enjoy the ride with these Gen Z assassins living a comedy of errors.
