John Boyega’s Possible Superhero Role?

John Boyega is synonymous with Star Wars Sequel Trilogy’s Finn which propelled him to global fame. His departure from Disney, however, was less than amicable. Interestingly, the fans have not ceased hoping for his return to the superpowered scene, despite Boyega’s clear stance against Disney.
Futura for Fanbase, Fatigue for Boyega
Rumors circulated, suggesting Boyega would step in as a potential replacement for Jonathan Majors’ role as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, Boyega was quick to dispel these, expressing no interest in joining the Marvel gang. The glimmer of hope fans held onto for his return seemed to dim even further, yet they remain undeterred. A recent flurry of Instagram activity sparked new speculation, with fans theorizing that Boyega could be priming for a superhero role. However, to date, no confirmation has come forth.
Past Pains and Future Projects
Cast your mind back to 2020, Boyega was pretty clear on his stance about the Star Wars franchise. He said, “You guys knew what to do with Daisy Ridley, you knew what to do with Adam Driver. Let’s be honest. Daisy knows this. Adam knows this. Everybody knows. I’m not exposing anything.”
Fast forward to 2022, Boyega seemed even less inclined to work with Disney. He said, “Marvel is not in the vision for me now. I want to do nuanced things…I want to donate my services to original indie films, because I know it’s challenging to top ‘Iron Man’ in that universe.”
Fan flames Resurgence
Despite seemingly extinguishing any hopes for a superhero debut, Boyega’s recent Instagram pictures and videos have rekindled speculation that his comeback is imminent. Of course, conjecture alone is difficult to sway the narrative. Boyega could simply be undertaking routine exercise. Yet, the unshakeable belief amongst fans is that Boyega is suiting up for a superhero role. Considering his relationship with Disney, it’s plausible to expect a DC Universe affiliation if there’s any truth to these rumors.
