Claims Emerge From Fans About Anthony Mackie’s Portrayal as Captain America…

“Fan Unrest Over New MCU Captain”

Title: The Captain America Quandary: The Art, The Script, and Some Rather Salty Fans

The ores of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been mined extensively, and now we’re seeing the formation of a new alloy in Captain America: Brave New World. The dark cloud hovering around the horizon, however, is the somewhat disgruntled army of fans who are shaken with the notion of Sam Wilson brandishing the star-spangled shield.

The Curious Case of Bumbling Banter

Much of the fans’ skepticism seems to stem from lines uttered by the characters in the popular series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which some found somewhat damp and drier than unbuttered toast.

A specific point of contention arises from a rather pivotal moment in the series when Anthony Mackie’s character – the new cap in town – faces-off against the architects of the Flag Smashers. Instead of bashing or thrashing, our winged warrior chastises his foes for describing Karli Morgenthau and her cheerless crew as ‘terrorists.’

Now, those well-acquainted with the MCU would know Morgenthau. Fearless leader of the Flag Smashers, a group that fondly reminisces about the world during the blip when Thanos’ purple fingers did a little ‘snippity-snip’ on the world’s population. The group’s agenda hinged on open borders, resource redistribution, and a few radical desires. But Sam isn’t here to debate motives. Oh no. It seems he’s more concerned about terminologies.

A Vocal Fan Base, A Twitterati Tirade, and a Missing Solution

"You gotta do better," says Captain America, holding his bowels of wisdom close. Critics contend that Sam Wilson’s platitudes and cliches critique terminology and law without providing concrete solutions. Pointing out the problem is not enough, they grunt- where is the visionary remedy?

Inconsistency is another thorn in the fan’s side. Side-eyeing the varying portrayals of Karli Morgenthau, Wanda Maximoff, and John Walker, they argue the villainous veil, once lifted, reveals less consistency and more confusion. What attributes of actions qualify as terrorist remains a matter of debate in the MCU.

An Alt-World of Dialogues: The ‘Fanscription’

Seeking solace in the universe of alternate realities, a few disgruntled fans have proposed some revisionary dialogues for the feathered Captain’s verbal pharmacy.

"That’s terrorism but let’s also recognise why they went down that path," says the virtual Sam from the fanverse. Others suggest lines acknowledging their transition from activism to extremism, hinting towards understanding the cause rather than merely pointing out the flaws.

Were they terrorising because they were irked at being booted out of other people’s homes after the blip? Or was it just lazy storytelling as noted by some serious Twitter-sleuths? We may never know for sure.

Ultimately, the essence of Sam Wilson’s call to action gets boiled down to the 7-word clamour, "You gotta do better, senator. Senator: How? Sam: IDK, do better!" Guess it’s the thought that counts, right?
