Coyote vs. Acme Movie Star Speaks Out

The Great Coyote: The Movie That Never Was

When Warner Bros. whispered "That’s all, folks" to the anticipated Coyote vs. Acme, the internet erupted in protest. Fans clamored for the live-action Looney Tunes film to hit the big screen. Sadly, the studio remained unmoved, stowing the project away for a $30 million tax write-off. One of the film’s stars, Nick Forte, has since shared his fiery take on this decision.

"My thoughts were that it’s fucking bullshit," Forte declared during an interview with MovieWeb. He staunchly defended this never-seen gem. "It is such a delightful movie. It deserves so much better than it got. I can’t tell why the decision was made to shelve it. But it makes my blood boil," he added, with clear frustration.

Forte’s Unyielding Passion

In the whimsical world of Coyote vs. Acme, Forte transforms into a beleaguered attorney. He joins forces with the infamous Wile E. Coyote. Together, they embark on a lawsuit of epic proportions. Sick of ACME’s disappointing products, which fail to capture his relentless target, the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote files a case against the mighty corporation. The film’s enchanting narrative, featuring John Cena and Lana Condor, never got its time to shine.

Forte feels a bittersweet pride in the project. “Thank you for asking me about it because I like talking about the movie. I don’t want people to forget what [Warner Bros.] did to this," he said. The experience remains a source of heartache for him. “I appreciate them letting us make it, but don’t let us make this thing that we fall in love with and then not show it. I would understand if the thing sucked, but it’s really good. Maybe, somehow, we get to see it at some point. I hope people do. I was really proud of it.”

The Boneyard of Unseen Films

Coyote vs. Acme isn’t alone in gathering dust at Warner Bros. headquarters. Other films like Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt also disappeared into oblivion. Forte admits he’s out of his depth when it comes to Hollywood’s business intricacies.

"Look, when it comes to Hollywood business stuff, I don’t know shit about shit. Even when a movie tests very well (like ours), there’s no guarantee that it’s gonna be a hit," he said, recognizing the industry’s unpredictability. "The people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it. It doesn’t mean I have to like it (I fucking hate it). Or agree with it. And it doesn’t mean that this movie is anything less than magnificent."

Forte’s sentiments echoed among fans. It’s a tragic twist for the eternal underdog, Wile E. Coyote, whose string of bad luck extended to his own film. Meep-meep.
