Villainous Artist Muse Set to Terrorize Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again
Art, Murder, and a Twisted Villain: Meet Muse
Marvel enthusiasts attending the recent D23 event were in for a surprise when a look through a TVA Door offered a peek into the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. From what we can cobble together, a new villain may soon make his mark — and he’s got a flair for the dramatic, or rather, the graffiti. The Daredevil landscape appeared strewn with illicit artwork, indicative of Muse – the murderous “artist,” stepping into the significant role in the impending series.
Muse, Balancing Art and Atrocity
The brainchild of Charles Soule and Ron Garney, Muse first made his bloody debut in 2016 and maintained his reign of terror for a couple of years until meeting his demise in Daredevil #600. Muse, a mass murderer with an unsettling affinity for the fine arts, is known to paint murals using the blood of his victims. A habit that, depending on your perspective, might put jaywalking and littering in a more favorable light.
An “Avant-Gore” Addition to the MCU
Indeed, Muse’s violent escapades and high body count may seem more suited to the gritty world of Netflix-Marvel than the family-friendly Disney +. However, he does bring a unique set of superpowers to the mix, taking the Marvel factor to new…bloodcurdling levels. Muse’s body acts as a sensory vortex, pulling in every bit of detail from his surroundings. This puts even Daredevil, with his enhanced senses, at a distinct disadvantage when up face-to-face with Muse.
Street Art and Super Fans
True to his unique modus operandi, Muse’s motives undergo a murky transformation later in his narrative. After a prison escape that involved, you guessed it, more killing, he develops an uncanny adoration for costumed vigilantes. He created a shrine to The Punisher, resulting in dead cops and causing then-Mayor Wilson Fisk to portray vigilantes as a public menace.
Back in the Red Suit
Charlie Cox will don the red suit again as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again, with Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin. They are joined by a star-studded cast including Jon Bernthal, Wilson Bethel, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, and Arty Froushan. Daredevil: Born Again is set for a March 2025 release on Disney+. Prepare for a gory, art-infused drama.
