“David Harbour Concludes Thunderbolts* Shoot, Teases Red Guardian Poster”
Although the Marvel vomitorium is so far spewing three ‘biggies’ for the coming year, Harbour’s wrap-up on Thunderbolts marks a significant shift in Marvel-Disney’s feverish production capacity. With upcoming films such as Deadpool & Wolverine and The Fantastic Four already catalyzing anticipatory palpitations among the fanbase, Thunderbolts wrap-up confirmation is nothing short of a dopamine drip.
Harbour’s Instagram activity has been particularly enticing, with an image that seems to scream Red Guardian propaganda. The actor’s caption – “Wrapped. Loved making this. Love the ‘bolts. #thunderbolts* #redguardian”- leaving fans titillated with anticipation. An Instagrammer with an apparent proficiency in Russian interpreted the poster’s inscription to read, “We are indomitable as the Red Guardian,” a fitting slogan for a propaganda poster.
Convention season is, once again, upon us and Marvel is not one to skimp on the show-and-tell. With events like the San Diego Comic-Con slated for July and the D23 Expo buzzing in August, there’s sure to be a smorgasbord of burning questions, bombshells, and eager bodies itching to decode the Thunderbolts* mystery.
And oh, what a cast! The lineup reads like an A-list roll call, including Bucky Barnes (played by stalwart Sebastian Stan), Ghost (played by the ethereal Hannah John-Kamen), U.S. Agent (bring the heat, Wyatt Russell), Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (the comic genius Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Yelena Belova (bursting with talent Florence Pugh), and Red Guardian, of course, played by David Harbour himself. Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross gets life through silver screen veteran Harrison Ford, with Geraldine Viswanathan completing the circuit. The film springs from the pen of Eric Pearson and is brought to life by director Jake Schreier.
A hiccup in the form of WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes forced Marvel to shelve Thunderbolts and push its release from July 26, 2024, to May 5, 2025. But as they say, a good thing is always worth the wait. Stay tuned for more updates on all your favorite Marvel releases, and keep those speculation gears turning – the countdown to 2025 continues!
