Fall Release Confirmed for Dragon Ball Daima
By August Tales
It’s official, anime fans. The long-anticipated “Dragon Ball Daima” will finally make its premier this fall. This shinier and newer extension of the Dragon Ball universe celebrates the late Akira Toriyama’s 40th anniversary since dropping the original Dragon Ball universe on us.
The New Guardian of the Universe
Prepare for a fresh wave of Goku-powered exploits, pioneering a new era for the beloved franchise. And what’s the buzz word? Premiere. As in, no more sleepless nights wondering when Goku’s new adventure will knock on the door. No, make a firm note on that anime calendar of yours: ‘Dragon Ball Daima’, Japan, October 11th.
Solar Systems away, the good folks at Fuji Television disclosed details of Daima’s landing on their network. Our hero takes off around 11:40 PM JST, jump-starting the station’s new late-night block. Oh, and if that’s not enough of a cherry on top, the first episode brings an extra ten minutes of never-seen-before action.
However, international ventures for the anime are still cloaked under mystery, leaving fans outside of Japan to play the waiting game. But rest easy, Dragon Ball enthusiasts, Fuji has got you covered for the Fall 2024 anime season.
Who’s in Control of the Dragon Ball Universe?
Our wait may not be over, but “Dragon Ball Daima” is gearing up for its grand reveal. The October debut targets Japanese audiences, while the rest of us anticipate the frequently pondered international plans and streaming platforms.
The Dragon Ball creative, Akira Toriyama, lent his magic touch to this tale before his departure. Benefiting from his genius are Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki, wearing the director’s hats for Toei Animation. Meanwhile, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru justifies Toriyama’s iconic designs through his animation, and the scripts fall under Yuuko Kakihara’s watchful eyes.
New Plot, Same Old Goku
With a grand adventure promised by none other than Toriyama, Goku’s voice requires a familiar touch. For that, we welcome the return of Masako Nozawa who has been the spirit of Goku throughout the saga. This time around, she’s the only confirmed voice actor for “Dragon Ball Daima”, with the English Dub edition keeping us in suspense.
To summarize Toriyama’s plot hint: Goku and pals shrink due to a conspiracy. Their quest to return to normal leads them to an unfamiliar world. And guess what? Goku uses his Power Pole for combat, something we haven’t seen in a while. So buckle up, Dragon Ball devotees. The newest addition to our universe is about to drop.
