Dragon Ball Daima: More Plans Unveiled for Iconic Franchise
By August Tales
As the eager countdown to “Dragon Ball Daima” release drops to just a few days, the superpowers behind this beloved franchise drop hints of an exciting future. A newly minted anime series, “Dragon Ball Daima,” celebrates the 40th anniversary of Akira Toriyama’s groundbreaking manga series. It promises a fresh storyline, previously untapped in the manga or anime, expanding the canon with a universe teeming with new characters.
The most enticing aspect of the series isn’t merely its novelty as fresh “Dragon Ball” content. It’s the profound overhauls in the franchise’s lore that grab attention. However, with Akira Toriyama’s recent passing and the franchise’s future uncertain, some fans are wary. Yet, the series custodians plan to march on. Indeed, the executive producer of the franchise disclosed “many plans” for Dragon Ball’s future.
The Road Ahead for Dragon Ball
In a recent preview event of “Dragon Ball Daima,” Akio Iyoku, the executive producer, voiced optimism over the franchise’s roadmap post the new anime’s release. Comfortingly, his words heralded more than just idle talk. “We’re still coming up with various plans, brainstorming many things. I want to continue giving it my all alongside [Goku voice actor Masako] Nozawa-san,” says Iyoku.
His comments shed a hopeful light on the franchise’s future without confirming the continuation of projects like the “Dragon Ball Super” manga. While the projects will unfortunately not be part of Toriyama’s official canon, fans can look forward to the unique offerings of fresh Dragon Ball projects. From the eagerly awaited return of “Dragon Ball Super” to feature films and new TV anime episodes adapting final arcs that Toriyama helped oversee, the future hints at plenty.
