Welcome Back, Wednesday Warriors!
This week’s comic book releases bring a stellar mix of adventure, mystery, and superhero action. We’ve sorted through the top picks to highlight the must-have titles hitting the shelves. From DC’s massive crossover event to some of Marvel’s heaviest hitters, this week has something for everyone. Without further ado, here are our top four picks—plus an indie gem you won’t want to miss!
Pick of the Week: DC All In Special #1
Let me start by saying, DC All In Special #1 is the kind of comic that reminds you why you fell in love with the medium in the first place. It’s this grand celebration of everything the DC Universe has to offer. Joshua Williamson and Scott Snyder bring their A-game, as you’d expect, and the writing has a real sense of urgency. I loved how the stakes feel personal yet universe-shattering. Darkseid is back—and let’s be real, when isn’t he? But this time, there’s a real sense of impending doom that you can’t shake. Daniel Sampere and Wes Craig bring visual energy that explodes off the page. Each panel feels like it’s building toward something even bigger. The multiverse is at stake, and every hero—new and old—has a part to play. It’s a comic that reminds you how fun and epic DC storytelling can be, while also giving us something truly memorable.
Daredevil #14
I’ve always had a soft spot for Daredevil, and this issue by Saladin Ahmed doesn’t disappoint. The moral dilemmas that Matt Murdock faces are what make him such an intriguing character. Ahmed dives deep into that, really exploring Daredevil’s internal conflict as he continues to walk a fine line between justice and vengeance. What struck me the most here was how Ahmed makes you feel every decision Matt has to make, and Luigi Zagaria’s art matches that intensity. There’s a grittiness to the world Daredevil inhabits, and this issue captures that perfectly. From the high-octane fight scenes to the quieter, reflective moments, it’s a journey that grips you from start to finish.
Poison Ivy #26
If there’s one series that’s been an unexpected emotional rollercoaster, it’s Poison Ivy. G. Willow Wilson’s writing gives Ivy such a rich, multi-faceted character arc, and this issue really hones in on the delicate balance she’s trying to maintain. It’s not often you get a villain with this much depth, and I’ve been loving how Wilson explores Ivy’s inner turmoil. Is she a destroyer or protector? Can she be both? And let’s talk about Marcio Takara’s art—it’s lush and absolutely gorgeous. The visuals practically breathe, pulling you into Ivy’s world of flora and conflicted emotions. Honestly, this has been one of my favorite ongoing series, and issue #26 is a perfect example of why.
The Immortal Thor #16
I’ve got to say, The Immortal Thor continues to amaze me with every issue. Al Ewing’s writing is a masterclass in combining cosmic grandeur with grounded, personal stakes. Thor is dealing with god-sized problems, but Ewing never loses sight of the character’s emotional core. Jan Bazaldua’s art complements this beautifully—there’s an epic scale to the battles, but you never lose the sense of the personal journey Thor is on. Issue #16 pushes Thor to the brink, facing not only external threats but also grappling with his identity as a god. If you’re into cosmic Marvel storytelling, this is absolutely where it’s at right now.
Honorable Mention: Hyde Street #1
I couldn’t close this list without shouting out Hyde Street #1. Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis have crafted something that’s as eerie as it is compelling. It’s a blend of supernatural horror and psychological tension, and it had me hooked from the first few pages. The neighborhood that seems picture-perfect hides dark secrets, and Johns knows exactly how to ramp up the suspense. Reis’s art, as always, is top-notch, with a level of detail that really sells the creeping sense of dread. If you’re looking for something a bit darker but with all the polish you’d expect from Johns and Reis, this book is a must-read.
This week’s picks really brought out the best in storytelling, from universe-shattering battles to intimate character studies. Each of these books offers something unique, and it’s hard to choose just one as the top. But that’s the beauty of comics—you don’t have to! Dive in and enjoy the ride, because these stories are worth every page.
