Roll up, roll up – the Deadpool and Wolverine cameo cavalcade continues unabated in the latest and (apparently) last trailer for the upcoming film. Captured in the spotlight is Dafne Keen reprising her role as X-23, a young female doppelgänger of Wolverine who took on the task of keeping her off the grim reaper’s list in the film Logan.

However, that’s not all. The trailer grants us a sharper glimpse at Lady Deadpool, who sneakily popped up in the preceding teaser. Moreover, it sheds light on Wolverine’s sort of illustrious role in the film. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, in Deadpool’s world, isn’t exactly “X-Man of the year.” Redemption may apparently be on the menu for this Logan variant, though, courtesy of assisting Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool in world-saving exploits.

On a Roller Coaster to Unexpected Cameos

Add X-23 to an impressive roster of confirmed cameos and unexpected guests gracing ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The grapevine tells us that Aaron Stanford’s Pyro and Tyler Mane’s Sabretooth from the Fox X-Men era, alongside Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, will also claim screen space. Those revelations are just the tip of the iceberg. If these are only the hints dropped, there’s a mountain of surprises assuredly tucked away for the release date.

Winding down the trailer, Deadpool states, “I know I turn everything into a joke, but I care.” And that’s the final hook – Deadpool & Wolverine promises not just laughs and banter-laden camaraderie between Reynolds and Jackman, but an emotional roller coaster ride too. Whether it strikes the right chord, only time will tell.

The Fox X-Men enterprise might span two decades and a catalogue of 13 movies, but some moments we could definitely use an amnesia charm for.

The much-anticipated ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will finally grace the silver screen a week from now, on July 26. The wait’s almost at the finish line.
