I Truly Enjoyed Performing that Role

“Deadpool & Wolverine” Shatters Records, Spotlights Cameos

The MCU has whisked us on countless adventures, but the latest whirlwind is with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ Out for just over a week, it’s not only raking in piles of cash but also shattering box-office records like a superhero on a rampage. Clearly, the mutants have made a monumental splash in the MCU, settling in for a long, thrilling haul.

Star-Studded Cameos and Record-Breaking Success

The film’s marketing campaign dangled tantalizing teasers, promising audiences a veritable parade of cameos and variant appearances. And boy, did it deliver. From Jennifer Garner’s electrifying Elektra and Chris Evans’ scorching Human Torch to Wesley Snipes’ razor-sharp Blade and Channing Tatum’s high-rolling Gambit, it felt like a superhero reunion barbeque. Yet, despite the star-studded lineup, one notable absence stood out—Josh Brolin’s Cable.

Brolin, the seasoned actor who brought Cable to life, had been evasive in interviews about his appearance, much like dodging that one nosy neighbor. However, his affection for the role and his deep regret at not reprising it were evident. “Yeeeesssss! I so wanted to be in that movie. [Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than ‘Outer Range’ will ever be… Cable was a lot of fun. I really liked doing that role,” Brolin shared.

Josh Brolin’s Absence and Enthusiasm

Despite the disappointment, Brolin holds no grudge. He’s genuinely excited about the film and holds his co-stars in high regard. “Hugh [Jackman], I’m absolutely in love with… And Hugh, I don’t know how old Hugh is now – is he 56, 57? I mean, seriously, the dude doesn’t age. So, yeah. I’m a big fan of his,” he expressed.

So why was Cable left out? It might have something to do with Brolin’s role as Thanos in the MCU. Rumors hint at Thanos’ possible return. If Evans and RDJ can find their way back to the MCU despite their earlier roles, anything is possible. What are your thoughts on these surprises and absences? Let’s hear it.
