Jacob Elordi Cast as Monster in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein for Netflix
By August Tales
A fresh big-hitter is about to storm onto the scene. Guillermo del Toro is about to rework Mary Shelley’s classic, Frankenstein, for Netflix. The streamer just unveiled the film boasts a dazzling cast. Meanwhile, the role of Frankenstein’s monster lands in Jacob Elordi’s hands instead of the previously announced Andrew Garfield. Garfield’s exit due, it appears, to a busy schedule. On the other hand, fresh off presenting a different kind of beast in Saltburn, Elordi is set to spread his wings when del Toro’s Frankenstein breaks into Netflix.
Who’s In Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein?
Aside from disclosing Elordi’s takeover, Netflix trumpeted the full ensemble gracing del Toro’s Frankenstein. Leading the pack is Oscar Isaac, cast as the notorious Doctor Victor Frankenstein. Moreover, joined by Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth and Felix Kammerer. Screen legends Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and rising star Christian Convery also co-star.
Without a doubt, this film’s first breaths are definitely one to watch. Whether a modern version, period piece, or anything else, we’re in. A team this impressive and del Toro’s singular vision surely mean we’re in for something truly extraordinary. We hope the reshaped Frankenstein pays homage to the story’s queer roots as it comes alive… and then fully embraces them.
Any News on the Netflix Release Date?
Currently, Netflix hasn’t set an exact release date for del Toro’s Frankenstein. “Coming soon,” is all we’re getting. With filming wrapped up, we should get some news without a looong pause. In these early days, we’re already pining for a glimpse of its visual flair.
