Sega has unleashed a fresh wave of excitement with the debut of an English-dubbed trailer for their upcoming game, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Set to roar onto screens on February 21, this installment promises to be a wild ride, featuring familiar voices and thrilling new adventures.
English Cast Unveiled
Leading the charge once more is Matt Mercer, returning as the iconic Goro Majima. While Mercer reprises his role, the rest of the English dub cast introduces new voices. James Kirkland joins as Taiga Saejima, taking over from Ron Yuan. Fans will also hear Samoa Joe as Raymond Law, Maya Tuttle as Noah Rich, Jeremy Brandt as Jason Rich, Brent Mukai as Masaru Fujita, and Debra Wilson as Queen Michele.
Sega initially slated the game for a February 28 release. However, fans are in for a treat as it hits shelves a week early. Available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam, this title offers cross-platform gaming thrills.
Storyline and Setting
Players dive back into the gritty world of Like a Dragon with Goro Majima, now the main protagonist. After a fateful arrival at a secluded beach and an unexpected bout of memory loss, Goro embarks on a new journey. This game, set just six months after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, sees Majima’s rise to become a pirate leader.
The game unfolds across three captivating locations: Hawaii, Rich Island, and Madlantis. Each setting offers unique challenges and quests. As the seas beckon, players can command a ship and explore mysterious islands.
Pre-order Bonuses and Editions
For those eager to jumpstart their pirate escapades, pre-order perks abound. Buyers of the standard, deluxe, or collector’s edition get the Ichiban Kasuga Pirate Crew & Special Outfit, adding a splash of Ichiban flair to their crew. This exclusive pack includes Ichiban himself, his pet crawfish Nancy, and two stylish outfits.
The deluxe edition expands on this with a Legendary Pirate Crew Pack. It also gifts players a ship customization pack, an outfit collection, and a special karaoke and CD pack. But for the die-hard fans, the collector’s edition offers even more. It includes all the deluxe edition extras plus an acrylic standee, an eye patch, a treasure coin pin, and a pirate flag.
Expanding the Franchise
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii connects directly to the saga of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the daring sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Released on January 26, this adventure RPG enhanced the franchise’s storytelling and gameplay. Sega announced it as the eighth key entry in the Yakuza/Like A Dragon franchise—an exciting new era for fans.
Whether you’re ready to set sail or relive Majima’s thrilling past, this game invites players to an unforgettable escapade in a world where the stakes are high and the seas uncharted. Keep your eyes peeled as February 21 approaches, and prepare to join the ranks of the most fearsome pirates yet.
