Star Wars Actor Determined to Continue The Acolyte’s Story Despite Cancellation
A Sith Lord’s Ambition Denied
Meet Manny Jacinto, the man behind The Acolyte’s fan-favorite villain. He’s stubbornly set on reviving the terminated series, despite the glaring verdict of Disney and Lucasfilm. That’s right, folks. Star Wars: The Acolyte appears to be heading into oblivion without a chance for a second season. The Leslye Headland brainchild caught the disciplinary ax most unexpectedly.
“Second Season or Bust”
Having voiced their disappointment, fans are far from alone. Co-stars, like Amandla Stenberg, didn’t mask their frustration either. Yet, no one holds a torch to Jacinto. His life mission? Simple. Give birth to “The Acolyte Season 2″.
Showcased at Dragon Con, Jacinto surprised fans during a panel on life and career ambitions. When quizzed about his ‘to-do-before-kicking-the-bucket’ list, he confidently replied, “The Acolyte Season 2.” Getting laughs and cheers, he said it all with a wink and a smile.
An Unusual Turn of Jedi Events
Stenberg may have been the luminary in The Acolyte, undertaking the lead characters’ roles, but Jacinto stole the show. His character, Qimir, started life as a misunderstood sidekick. However, halfway through the premier season, the mask fell. The charismatic orphan turned out to be the elusive Sith lord fans couldn’t help but love.
To Qimir with Love
Post unmasking, Qimir’s popularity sky-rocketed among fans. Manny was over the moon with his creation. He was more than grateful for the chance to bring this character to life with Headland. With such a loyal fanbase after just one season, it’s tragic that Qimir may never grace our screens again.
Delving Deeper into Unknown Star Wars Territory
Situated in “The High Republic” era, Star Wars: The Acolyte brought to light a crime spree that baffled the likes of most Jedi masters. Anchored in darkness and unanticipated twists, the plot kept Star Wars enthusiasts glued to the screen.
Guaranteed, the show faced its premature demise. But say what you may, The Acolyte reigned supreme during its run. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast including Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen, and Carrie-Anne Moss among others, it made its burst onto the small screen via Disney+ on June 4th.
So folks, buckle up and let’s join Jacinto in keeping hope alive for “The Acolyte Season 2”. Maybe the force will turn in our favor!
