Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi Take on Brontë Classic

Revealed and confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are lined up for Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights. In the project based on Emily Bronte’s novel, Robbie will become Catherine Earnshaw. Meanwhile, Elordi will step into Heathcliff’s shoes, the foster son of the Earnshaws. They’re currently gearing up for the pre-production stage, with the shoot set to kick off in the United Kingdom next year.

 Production Powerhouses Behind Wuthering Heights Film

In the company of Fennell, MRC and LuckyChap Entertainment will produce the film. LuckyChap Entertainment, a brainchild of Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara, has produced films like I, Tonya and Barbie. These productions have garnered Academy Awards, with Robbie in starring roles. Additionally, Fennell will also have a hand in writing the script.

This summer, Fennell formally announced her plan to adapt Wuthering Heights, which will mark her third venture with LuckyChap. Fennell’s previously directed films for LuckyChap include her social media hit, Saltburn, where Elordi stood out among the main actors. With significant roles in Euphoria and Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, Elordi’s fame is on the rise. He’s currently set for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein project.

Supremely known for her portrayal in last summer’s box office smash-hit Barbie, Robbie is a celebrated actress and producer. Robbie’s presence in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey by Kogonada, set for release in May 2025, is her next anticipated appearance.

Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights has graced the big screen several times, translated into numerous languages. Iconically, it scored a Best Picture nomination at the Academy in 1939.
