Star Trek: Lower Decks Lives On in Comics
Great news for Star Trek: Lower Decks fans! While the animated series wraps up with its final season, the adventures continue in a new comic series from IDW Publishing. Starting this winter, the comic promises to capture the essence of the beloved show.
The Creative Team
Written by Fantastic Four’s Ryan North and illustrated by Derek Charm, this series is set to bring the same humor and heart that fans love. North and Charm, who previously collaborated on the Eisner-nominated one-shot Star Trek: Day of Blood – Shax’s Best Day, are no strangers to the Lower Decks universe.
“Lower Decks is my favorite Star Trek,” says North. “I’ve seen every episode except one, and this comic won’t contradict that missing piece.”
North credits the support from IDW and Paramount for helping create a heartfelt book filled with sci-fi ideas, character development, and plenty of Trek humor.
A New Chapter for Lower Decks
Heather Antos, IDW Group Editor, shared her excitement: “Just when you thought we couldn’t go lower… we’re back with the first ongoing Lower Decks series! Ryan North and Derek Charm, along with other talented artists, are taking us deeper into the Trek universe.”
The series will feature “episodic” adventures, with each arc handled by different artists, adding a dynamic flair to the storytelling.
The first issue of Star Trek: Lower Decks hits comic shops on November 13. Get ready for more laughs, more heart, and more Lower Decks!
