Where on Earth is Blade?

Bad Moon Rising: Marvel’s ‘Blade’ Reboot and the Ill-Fated Saga of Silences

In the Marvel universe’s upcoming star-studded calendar, Mahershala Ali’s Blade seems to have been secretly demoted to the role of the invisible man.

Marvel’s ‘Blade’ – slated to star Oscar winner, Mahershala Ali – had seemingly lost its luster among other sparkling announcements at San Diego’s Comic-Con. Five years ago, Marvel Studios confirmed that Ali would be donning the role of Eric Brooks, the antihero we know and love as Blade. By now, we should have been swimming in reviews, rants, and memes. Unfortunately, the movie has taken more detours than an Uber with a broken GPS. The Blade reboot has bid farewell to a pair of directors and has become stuck in the dreary apartment of writer’s limbo.

The Invisible Reboot

Presumably, Blade is set to grace screens next year. However, while painting their perfect picture of 2025, Marvel Studios masterfully ignored its existence. Marvel Mogul, Kevin Feige, who introduced Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, was mysteriously silent about this phantom of a film.

But, like a sudden plot twist, earlier in the week, he subtly shifted tunes. Feige strummed an optimistic note about Blade, admiring its journey and the direction it was headed. Assuring fans and critics alike, he vouched for their new writer, claiming the script was weaving a beautiful arc.

Fan Frustration and Memes

As this gloom-stricken saga unfolds, even the internet can’t resist joining the party. The world of memes has welcomed Blade with open arms, turning fan frustration into viral comic relief. The first Blade-bearer, Wesley Snipes, took a moment to address this unusual series of events. Extending his support to Ali, he shed light on the complexities of resurrecting Blade on-screen. He said, with much wisdom, “You need a lot of secret sauce to do the Blade thing, man.”

So, mark your calendar or maybe don’t. Blade, ladies and gentlemen, is rumored to be swooping into theaters on November 7, 2025, if it can find its way out of the fog.
