If a Copper member chooses to sell a book, it must be listed at 60% or less of its current Amazon price, plus the $1.99 per book fee. Our goal is to keep books affordable and accessible for everyone while covering transaction and platform costs.

3. How does the book exchange work?

Users can list the trade paperbacks they want to trade and browse books listed by other users. When you find a book you’d like to trade for, you can initiate a trade request with the owner. Once both parties agree, you handle the shipping directly between yourselves.

4. What is the fee for using August Tales?

We charge a fee of $1.99 per book traded. This fee helps us maintain the platform, ensure smooth transactions between users and includes the credit card fees.

10. How do I list a book for trade?

We’ve been building a comprehensive database to make adding books easier than ever. Simply log in, go to the “My Books” section, and click “Add a Book.” From there, enter a title or character into the search bar. If the book exists in our database, you’ll see an “Add to My Bookshelf” button—just click it, and the book will be instantly added to your library.

If the book isn’t available, you can either send us a message through the Contact Us window, and we’ll add it for you, or you can manually enter the book details and upload a clear image.

11. How do I request a trade?

Browse the available books, and when you find one you’re interested in, click on the “Request Trade” button. This will send a trade request to the book’s owner, who can then accept or decline your offer.

12. What if my trade request is declined?

If your trade request is declined, you can try to negotiate with the owner or look for another book that interests you. Declined requests do not incur any fees and are allowed.

13. How is shipping handled?

Shipping is chosen directly between the users involved in the trade and then purchased through Augusttales.com. Once a trade is agreed upon, you can communicate with each other to decide on the shipping method and each member is responsible for their shipping costs.

14. How can I ensure my books arrive safely?

It is your responsibility to package the books securely for shipping. We recommend using sturdy packaging materials and tracking the shipment to ensure safe delivery.

15. Can I hand-write the address to send a book?

Yes, you can hand-write the address, but we recommend printing it to avoid any errors.
