Glen Powell Open to a ‘Wild Interpretation of Batman’…

Glen Powell Reveals His Ideal Batman Role

Glancing over his shoulder, acting enthusiast Glen Powell playfully entertains the fantasy of taking on a behemoth like Batman. However, he ruefully confesses that the phone hasn’t exactly been ringing off the hook with calls from either DC or Marvel.Currently twirling through tornadoes in “Twisters,” and known for strutting his stuff in “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone But You” — where he co-stars with the enchanting Sydney Sweeney – Powell is certainly keeping things interesting in Tinseltown.

Rumor Mill in Overdrive

Recently, when a guest on the steamy The Discourse podcast, Powell had fans guessing as he responded to the flurry of whispers about potential superhero ambitions and secret meetings with big studio bigwigs. His response was, well, humbling.

He confesses, “You know I’ve never gotten a call from DC or Marvel,” before quickly emphasizing, “But I’m a fan of everything they do.”

Deadpool & Wolverine — Monster Hit

Speaking of fandom, he was frontline and center at the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, and boy, did he enjoy it. “I freaking had a blast,” beams Powell, tipping his hat to creators Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds. “What they’ve done here is extraordinary, offering audiences a richly imaginative and enjoyable experience.”

DCU’s Latest Offerings

Powell also took some time out to talk up the new DC Universe, strumming all the right chords of anticipation. “I think James Gunn, Peter Safran, and what they’re doing at DC – I think it’s going to be really, really good for that business,” he respectfully commended. But let’s be honest, whether he’s courting DC for a future collaboration, or just being generous with his pleasant sentiments, one thing is clear – the guy loves his movies.

Bringing His Own Beat to Batman

Interestingly, rumors are circulating that James Gunn is on the hunt for a new Batman to feature in Andy Muschietti’s “Brave and the Bold” flick. On the subject of the unrest in Gotham, Powell shares his unique vision, “I was always a Batman guy. I would have a wild take on Batman. It definitely would not be like a Matt Reeves tone — it’d probably be closer to Keaton,” he muses.

Glen Powell made a brief cameo in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, where he admittedly got his “head smashed in by Bane.” Despite the slightly traumatic experience of having his lights punched out, he’s evidently bonded with the bat.

Devoted fans have also taken the liberty of casting Glen Powell as Green Lantern Hal Jordan. But before everyone loses their calm, let’s remember that Powell has publicly admitted he’s not that interested in MCU. So, will he or won’t he slip into a superhero cape? Only time will tell.
