Hellboy: The Crooked Man Debuts Alongside Humble Bundle Fundraiser

By August Tales Comics

Hellboy is back, this time in Hellboy: The Crooked Man, set to hit the big screen in just a few weeks. In celebration of the new film’s release, a fresh Humble Bundle fundraiser has launched, aiming to re-ignite excitement for the iconic comic universe. Even better, all funds raised will support a cause worth cheering for.

A Bundle for a Cause

This latest fundraiser offers fans the chance to collect up to 36 volumes of B.P.R.D., the spin-off series from the Hellboy franchise. Spearheaded by creator Mike Mignola and various talented artists, these comics dive deep into the world of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. For as little as $1, fans can snag a piece of the action, or they can go all in and grab the complete bundle for $30. Best of all, every cent from the sales goes to World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization providing meals in the wake of disasters. The fundraiser runs until October 3rd, making it a perfect way for comic fans to get their hands on some legendary stories while supporting an impactful cause.

The Comic World of B.P.R.D.

The B.P.R.D. series revolves around the team of paranormal investigators tasked with battling supernatural threats across the globe. These comics follow key characters like Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman, and of course, Hellboy himself. Through over 30 volumes of action-packed storytelling, readers get to explore a universe that’s just as dark, thrilling, and complex as the main Hellboy saga.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man – What to Expect

This new film installment takes Hellboy back to the 1950s, where he and a trainee agent from the BPRD face dark forces in rural Appalachia. Their mission leads them to a village tormented by witches, all under the twisted influence of the Crooked Man, a devilish figure tied to Hellboy’s own shadowy past.

Jack Kesy takes on the role of Hellboy, joined by a stellar cast including Jefferson White, Adeline Rudolph, and Joseph Marcell. Produced by Millennium Films and slated for release by Ketchup Entertainment, the film’s script is a collaboration between director Brian Taylor, Mike Mignola, and writer Christopher Golden.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Mignola expressed excitement over how well the film captures the essence of his original comic work. He highlighted several key moments that faithfully recreate his favorite panels, giving fans even more reason to be eager for the film’s release.
