“Marvel Comics Unveils New Hellhunters Series”
By August Tales
A Fiery Revelation from Marvel: Hellhunters
Marvel comics drops a bomb – "Hellhunters" is coming. It’s set for its grand launch this December with Phillip Kennedy Johnson serving as its creative author. Then there’s Adam Gorham pulling the strings behind the notable artwork. Ghost Rider ’44, a character pulling a stint in World War II, features within. In the present day, however, the Ghost Rider ’44 only surfaces "when the monsters come."
Certainly, Ghost Rider ’44 isn’t just another imposed figure in the comic world. Kennedy Johnson enthusiastically reveals him as his favorite guest star in his Incredible Hulk series. Kennedy Johnson had sculpted a well-formed origin tale for Sergeant Sal Romero, with artist partner Nic Klein executing the creation. The final output turned out irresistibly cool and entertaining. The "War Devil" arc, however, isn’t his last exploit on the sheet.
The Origin of Ghost Rider ’44
Now, with the wave of support from fans, Adam Gorham and Kennedy Johnson are set to ignite the print with Ghost Rider ’44’s origin. It bears the forgotten narrative of the most tenacious, blood-soaked, frightful, and daring Nazi-killer squad from WWII: the Hellhunters.
But, what is Hellhunters all about you ask?
Hellhunters: A Gritty Adventure
The narrative is set in 1944, when U.S. Sergeant Sal Romero finds himself parachuting into Nazi-occupied Europe. At the same time, young Nazi officer Felix Bruckner experiences an intense, indescribable evil possession. This meeting results in Romero emerging as Ghost Rider ’44. His mission becomes twofold: to seek vengeance against Bruckner and the Nazis as well as to save humanity from obliteration.
Adam Gorham sees Hellhunters as an immense opportunity. He describes Kennedy Johnson’s scripts as a mix of horror, super heroics, and thrilling pulp, all converging into one hellish adventure. Gorham exerts extra effort in offering raw, horrifying action with hopes of readers craving more after each page.
With a glimpse at Jonas Scharf and Taurin Clarke’s artistic creations, the visuals promise to uphold the narrative’s riveting action.
Ghost Rider ’44 Unleashes Hell
Last year’s Incredible Hulk series by Kennedy Johnson introduced us to Sergeant Sal Romero. An alias for Ghost Rider ’44, he wreaked havoc during WWII. This December, Hellhunters, a five-issue limited series, will be unveiled. It is crafted by the inventive duo, Kennedy Johnson and Adam Gorham.
These days, Ghost Rider ’44 can only be stirred "when the monsters come.” During WWII, there were more than enough unsettling characters – Felix Bruckner included. A Nazi officer who also underwent his own eerie transformation. As Bruckner’s demonic army marches forward, Sal must utilize his newfound supernatural abilities to shift the war’s outcome.
Marvel’s Badass Heroes Join the Fray
Hellhunters will witness Ghost Rider ’44 battle along notable characters like Wolverine, Nick Fury, Peggy Carter, Bucky Barnes, and Soldier Supreme from the Avengers’ series by Jason Aaron.
