“Agatha All Along Teaser Gives Glimpse of Witch’s Quest for New Coven”
Agatha has certainly seen better days. Once unrivaled in her power, conjuring catastrophe and chaos with a cackle and a flick of her wrist, she now finds herself on a quest. An enchanting journey not just for renewed abilities but for solidarity. The trailer takes us on a sneak peek into her recruitment drive brewing a fresh coven of witches.
Joining this spellbinding cast is the versatile Kathryn Hahn herself, Jo Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza (another goth teen – seriously Agatha, tread carefully!). Get ready to mark your calendars and draw a pentagram around the date – the first two episodes will premiere on Disney+, come September 18, 2024.
The teaser trailer unfurls a yarn which reads more like an unsolicited gathering of private school rejects than a supernatural saga, but isn’t that where the best of journeys begin, on the road less traveled? The official blurb dances around a peculiar narrative, “The infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he petitions her to take him down the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, upon survival, rewards a witch with what they’ve cruelly lost”.
Our dear Kathryn Hahn as Agatha is joined by Emma Caulfield Ford and Debra Jo Rupp, the preferable Westview misfits, reprising their designated roles. Jac Schaeffer, the head writer, and director of this mysterious caravan, teams up with Kevin Feige to pull the executive produce strings. The Agatha All Along experience promises one thing to its audience: a desperate, dizzying, dramatic descent down the Witches’ Road, with an uncertain, yet presumably magical (and hopefully non-goth) teen for company.
